National Dislocated Worker Grants (DWGs) and Benefits

During recent times, there is no question that our economy has taken quite a hit. With a suffering economy follows lay-offs and people out of work, struggling to support their families. National Dislocated Worker Grants (DWGs), formerly known as National Emergency Grants (NEGs), is a grant awarded, only to those that are eligible, by the Secretary of Labor, under Section 170 of Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act. It provides assistance to states and other eligible applicants to cope and effectively work through a situation caused by unexpected layoff that cause significant job losses. This is a temporary relied program that exists to broaden the capacity to assist dislocated/displaced workers, including military service members, and attempt to keep up with the sudden influx of WIOA employment and training services. The main goal of the program is to employ workers that have been impacted and increase their chances of being re-rmployed and begin to earn again.
